Flower Paradise: Madeira

I finally managed to go through all of the pictures (see former post)  and uploaded here some of my favourites:

IMG_1892Mercado dos Lavradores in Funchal – one of the main attractions of the city was a large market of vegetables, fruits, flowers and fish

IMG_1927This street is located in the center of Funchal and they had a project where all the doors were painted in a different way.

IMG_2024While walking through the Tropical Garden you could also admire 40 tile panels telling the Portuguese history, beginning with the kingdom of Dom Afonso Henriques and ending with a panel dedicated to the Third Republic.

IMG_2429Santana is a beautiful village characterised by its small thatched triangular houses. They are built with natural stone and thatched with straw… Most of the ones picture were different souvenir shops.

One of the houses was actually a lovely flower shop where you could buy some of the marvellous flowers of the island and plant them home yourself! I bought three of them and hope I’ll manage to grow them.IMG_2434 IMG_2444 IMG_2462 wtudor IMG_2215 madeira“I’m the king of the wooooorld!”
